A little about me and my style . . .

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once {s}he grows up."
Pablo Picasso

Here I am:

I am deeply passionate about creating art whether it be using material, paper, or my camera. My career of choice is being a 3rd grade teacher, but I always long for the sanctity of my craft room! I relish in the fact that I can take a photograph, some paper, and embellishments and create something special. Something that will brighten a friend's life or just put a smile on my childrens' faces. Scrapbooking gives me a voice and let's me share myself with others.

My Objective:

I am always on the look out for design opportunities as well as guest design spots. I have been scrap booking for about 12 years now. I am capable of coming up with altered item ideas, page ideas, challenge ideas, and even sketches. My strength lies in the fact that I can come up with a finished project rather quickly and efficiently. I am extremely creative and enthusiastic which I feel are two strong qualities that any company would benefit from. I am willing to step outside my comfort zones to accomplish new tasks and push my creativity to new heights. I am always on the lookout for new ideas and techniques.

My Style:

I have a hard time defining my style. I love to try new things out and mix in a lot of color. I tend to enjoy working with bold colors and bright patterns. I love to mix and match elements such as: distressing, free hand doodling and lettering, stamping, painting, and embossing. I love to start with a photo and then let the page or altered item evolve around it. I spend time writing down journaling and sharing the particular moment with those willing to look at my creations. I love to be creative with many products and often think of new ideas on the fly. I adore being handed a pile of products and seeing what projects will evolve.

My Experience:

I have completed my first term at 4 Scrappy Sisters, I have been published in a couple of on-line magazines, and I have a layout that is being published in Simple Scrapbooks. I have helped with 2 on-line crops, which I totally love doing. I created weekly challenges for both scrapbooking and photography. When the moment strikes, I have been known to give away fun prizes! I know that I am a very patient and creative person who is willing to help and shares ideas with others. I see scrapbooking as a tool that I use to help my children remember moments of time as well as a tool that connects people.

I love that quote you used and I definitely agree it is really hard to define your style -- especially when you are willing to try new things and play around. That is the beauty of creating, you don't have to stick to just one style.
